Lentil hummus

Hummus can have many faces. Most of us surely are familiar with the one where the chickpeas are the main ingredient. This, however, is not the only legume one can use to create this delicious spread inspired by Arabic cuisine. In our offer you can find hummus made of… lentils. These seeds are blended with vegetables, sesame seeds paste, vegetable oil, a hint of lemon juice and spices. All this gives us a creamy, aromatic and delicious spread – a real treat for the fans of culinary novelties. Its basis is lentils which are a source of B group vitamins that influence the functioning of the whole body and are necessary for our health and well-being. Lentils are also a source of magnesium (that participates in almost 300 biochemical processes taking place in our bodies and has a significant influence on the proper functioning of the nervous, immunological and muscular system) and of iron – a precious element for our cardiovascular system. What is more, the seeds of this legume are a rich source of dietary fibre, they have a low glycemic index and they are very filling – you will not feel hunger for a long time!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Rice is good but you can’t do without lentils – says the Hindu proverb. And there is certain truth to it – lentils are a real treasury of vitamins and nutrients so important for our diet. No wonder then that they are being cultivated for thousands of years.

Lentil hummus can be used as a bread spread – it is a great basis to start creating delicious, colourful sandwiches. It will make a perfect dip for crispy vegetables, will serve as a filling for crepes and tortillas, as a sauce base that you can add to a salad or vegetable chops (it is enough to dilute it with water, oil and a little bit of lemon juice).
